Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good replacement monitor for the nanao-ms2931 which came in all the sega bass fishing cabinets. It is a 27" curved tri sync monitor, and im having a heck of a time finding one. I have bought 2 replacement chassis's for it, 1 chassis which i bought brand new and had a whopping 30 day warranty lasted 3 months and the 2nd one which was used and came with no guarantee's that it even worked, did not work at all, so im just trying to find a new replacement that i came drop in and get this game back up and running. A flat screen wont work with the bezel of these games, so it has to have a curve to it.

Many Thanks
Rick

well, I guess the first place to start is what's actually going on with the 2 chassis, I would strongly advise you get one of those fixed professionally (which doesn't necessarily mean someone collecting your money knows what they're doing in a lot of cases) by someone that does know what they're doing. I can't vouch that Chad at Arcadecup.com has this particular monitor, so I'd fire off an e-mail to him first to make sure. if he does, then I'd ship the chassis off to him for repair.

as far as replacements, you need to know what resolution this game runs. I can't pull up system16.com, but I think it's medium res. medium res monitors at 27".... yeah, they're hard to find. :(

IMO, I'd get one of the two chassis fixed, unless there's something wrong with the tube/yoke that you know of.

well I put a 2934 I think in mine, (its VGA only but think thats the model number??) had to switch out the frames due to bolt holes, and also space the frame from the tube by a little so it would actually mount to the cabinet bolts, and allow the bezel to be fitted, I know you can use a WG D9200 as appears the same curve on tube, but again would need to swap frames etc at least that would give you TRI Res, but not auto switching like the original BC monitor, what are you planning on using the cabinet for? or just Bass Fishing, I know a guy on our local forum had his original BC chassis fixed, but he sent that to Austraila

Actually , i use it for several games, bss fishing, naomi 2, 1069 in 1 and i just switch out the control panels as necessary.

Rick.

I see, you really need the tri-res then. but yeah, D9200 is what a lot of the NAOMI stuff came with, decent units if they actually work.

what exactly is wrong with the 2 chassis?

The monitor comes on but does not display anything, i see the faint glow on the neck tube, but it does not sync. That's on the first chassis, when i hooked up the possibly defective second chassis, i got a smell of burning electronics, so i immediately killed the power, Im working on getting some replacement ms-2930's locally, so if i get those and they work well, i guess i can close this one out as i will no longer have to repair this monitor ,but will probably shelve it for the tube.

Many Thanks
Rick
