I picked up a BC-20 (I think, more on that later) and am having trouble getting it to change correctly.

The inside of the cabinet says it's a BC-20, but the computer says BC-25. Is this a problem?

I tried setting the dips differently, but it made no difference. So now, for shits and giggles, I set them all to on. When I hit the .25 test vend, I get 1 nickel. When I hit the .50 or 1.00 test vend, I get nothing and an error code comes up. 9 and fault light flashing.

If I run a dollar through it, I get 2 quarters and 3 dimes. Then the dime hopper keeps running for a while and an error code comes up.

All I want to do is have it vend tokens or quarters like this guy did with his. But if I can't even get the test vend buttons to work, I don't have much hope. Can anyone help?

i had computer problems with mine.

heres what i did... " F*** the computer!!!!"

I rigged the payout door or whatever its called open with a piece of mechanics wire.

I then wired 120vac common to one terminal of a hopper motor(they are 120vac, at least on mine)

The hot wire went from the power cord, through a 20 amp fuse, to a pushbutton switch. THe other end of the switch goes to the hopper motor.

when you hold the button, the hopper motor runs. THis will run the auger in the coin bucket. WIth this magic happening, it spits tokens. Simple.

You dont get the nice click, click, click, click of 4 coins like you would if you could get the test vend working, but this is the next best thing i could do for free.

On my model, it also took 50 cent pieces. I mounted the pushbutton inside the machine, under the reject lever rod, so form the outside you hold down the 50 cent piece reject lever to make it spit out tokens. If you dont have any external levers to push, then just drill and install the pushbutton switch somewhere easily accessible.

Success!

I futzed with it a bit more and got the .25 vend to work correctly. The .50 and 1.00 both still give error code 9.

I set the dips to vend 5 nickels when changing .25, and then put my quarters in the nickel hopper. I found which wire goes to the .25 test vend in the manual and spliced in a new piece of wire and ran the other end to the coin eject button. So it's just like the video I posted earlier, except I get 5 coins instead of 6.

PS - Thanks for the write up Cadillacman. I'll save that post for when my change computer finishes shitting itself someday.
