I'm jumping on the bandwagon here, but no refund, no assistance.

I sold my defender for (350.00) which was in my personal collection for several years. Never had any trouble the monitor was gone thru again not a quick flip or anything shady. I'm out of town with the family for the weekend. I get a call from the buyer he states it now has a ram error. I told him it was probably just a chip or socket said there very easy to reseat. He begins to over talk me which makes me crazy but what ever then begins to say it's on location and has only been on for 70 or so hours since this past wed. Then says how it would really suck to have to spend a bunch of money on this game this soon after buying it and asserted that it was faulty even though he brought a very well known and respected pinball tech which was a friend of his to help check it out. This was a craigslist buy with no return offered. I don't know the buyer but I do sell several games a month locally. So my question do I offer to refund and pick up my game which I don't want back or repair the board by means of third party so it doesn't get personal or just forget the thing and say sorry it's a 30 yr old game.
Thanks for the honest input.
I usually offer my standard "Tail light warranty" with every game I sell. When you see my taillights disappear or I see yours disappear that is when the warranty expires.
You are in a tough spot with now real good solution. I have been there also. You could try to fix it on site and if you can't get it to work recommend someone to him for repairs.
My response "The game is fully warranted 100% right up to and including my property line."
You said he brought a very well known and respected pinball tech which was a friend of his to help check it out. So that means it was working and was to his, and his tech's, satisfaction when he bought it from you.
Just bought a game from a local KLOVer and it died after being on for an hour. I asked him if he had any ideas of what I could try since I have no experience with b/w vectors and hardly any with vectors in general. I wasn't asking for a refund..just for things to check. He's coming over with a spare board and some help figuring out the problem. Great guy. But in no way did I expect it.
That happens to everyone, I paid $1000.00 for a pin that was working 100% only to have it break a couple weeks later. I never expected a refund, its cl.

If the guy's being a jerk, cuss him out with your favorite adult words, and threaten to kill him if he ever comes near you or calls again.
I would offer the other alternatives, but it sounds like he's being a jerk to me, lol. Use option #1.
BTW, 350 bucks? Are you serious? He's lucky it even works for that price.
No shit. I've seen that machine....it was no beater, either.
I think I would have been more inclined to help the guy if he didn't start out as a cocksucker...accusing me of being shady, etc.
At this point, regardless of what you do, he's going to bad mouth you....I'd tell him to blow a donkey!
Edward
So are you going to start fixing Tony's EM games if he blows off his EM tech? I know you love EM's Edward!
JJ
Russel has bills too. He knows the difference between business and personal.....not to mention, he's got to know his buddy is a prick.
90% of everyone who's ever encountered that dude....thinks he's a prick. He bought your Star Wars.....what'd you think of him.
Oh yeah....and NO! I hate EMs.
Edward
Hmm. That guy huh? I actually liked him. He payed $1000 for my Star Wars! LOL. Now that you mention it he was looking at my Defender also for a friend of his. I wanted $400 for mine though. Guess that's why he bought Tony's for $350. I noticed he was trying to sell the Star Wars for $1200 on craigslist the other day.
JJ
He never keeps anything over a couple months.....and then flips it for (usually) crazy money. He always has very good luck finding that first time....i'm gonna way over pay....buyer.
BTW, he was bitching about how you over charged him. You need to stop making people buy your stuff at gunpoint!
Edward
Maybe I did I guess, that is if he knew what I payed for it. I am pretty intimidating BTW! LOL. He wanted it bad though. He called twice a day to make sure I haven't sold it underneath him. He bought it when we had all that rain so it took a long time to pick it up. O'well sounds like the guy has buyers remorse issues.
