So I need to reimage a Maximum Force HD and I tried doing it using the MAME CHD file and CHDMAN as I have for several other drives, but the CHD file I have for Max Force is too large to fit on the drive. I suppose the MAME CHD was taken from a drive that was larger than the 4 gig original. I know the data is less than a gig. Does anyone have a smaller image, either as a CHD file or as a raw image I can use?

The image expands on the HDD. As a rule of thumb you need a HDD twice the size of the CHD image file you plan to place on it. For Maximum Force you should be fine with a 2GB disk though.

Using a 4gb drive. I had this problem with Johnny Nero too. Original drive was a 20GB, but I had to use an 80GB when using the MAME CHD. Often the MAME guys use a drive that was a replacement and since CHDMAN doesn't just copy the data from the drive, but rather ALL sectors, the result is a CHD file that is larger.

Ignore what I just wrote. It seems I've got it to fit on a 4gb drive. Tried again with the Johnny Nero and I got it to fit too. Don't know what I did wrong last time.
