I have a CarnEvil game that has a factory connector for a Dollar Bill Acceptor. So I decided I wanted one. I bought a Mars AE 2411 upstacker. The Mars DBA has the 9 pin connector just like my CarnEvil's factory connector. Installed the DBA and turned on the machine. The green arrow lights on the front lit up but the red LEDs in the bill slot aren't on and it won't take any bills. I tried replugging in the harness in the side of the DBA but it made no difference.

There is another small connector inside the cab that is for optional currency use but I didn't see anywhere that it would plug into. I checked the wiring diagram and saw that it was for electronic coin counters.

I am new to DBAs and at a loss right now. Any suggestions???

Do you hear it start up when it powers on? It should have some LEDs that blink (either the green lights on front or some red ones in the back) to give you an error code....

The bill acceptor will have several DIP switches on the side of it. Be sure the one marked "Harness Enable - Always Enabled" is set to Always enabled.

Also, some of the dip switches control the denominations accepted. Be sure that at least the $1 acceptance is set to on.

I set all of the dip switch settings to off which is the default settings from the factory and "always enabled" is one of the settings. That's how I got the green arrow lights to come on. The green lights are on solid..no flashing. The red LED in the back that is supposed to be on is not. No error codes. Start up noises have occurred twice but doesn't always happen.
