I'm swapping a new monitor into my buddy's track and field and the new monitor seems to be a newer more recent make...

here are the pin outs for both:

New Monitor
1. Blue
2. Green
3. Red
4. Ground
5. Horizontal sync
6. Vertical sync

Old Monitor
1A. Negative Horizontal sync
2A. Negative Vertical sync (NOT USED)
3A. Ground

1B. Positive Horizontal sync (NOT USED)
2B. Positive Vertical sync (NOT USED)
3B. Ground
4B. Blue
5B. Green
6B. Red

Is how I should map them?

Old 1A to New 5
Old 3A to New 4
Old 3B to New 4
Old 4B to New 1
Old 5B to New 2
Old 6B to New 3

I think you made an error in your new monitor pinout. whenever there's only 1 set of sync pins, it means the monitor can automatically determine the polarity.

you would use Red/Green/Blue/Ground/---/Sync just like that.

if the syncs are in fact arranged like you described, then that's a pretty whack monitor. if the headers are both the same size between monitors you should be able to tap the old plugs right in accordingly.
