(If I use the incorrect names for anything, please forgive me as I am pretty new to pins): The pop bumpers on my Embryon do not seem to be "sensitive" enough. The ball has to hit pretty squarely to activate them. I'm hoping that this may just be a need for some type of lubrication on the activator ring. Am I headed in the right direction with this? Thanks.

You probably need to clean and adjust the switch contacts in addition to the stuff already mentioned.

Just an FYI....do not lubricate them. That will only lead to a mess (and more trouble).

Ya do you have to remove pop-bumper assembly to clean and make adjustments? I dont see how you can clean or adjust with assembly still on, I have big hands and fingers and it tough to get in there to clean and adjust. I was able to get at one spoon and used a q-tip with Isp. alcohol but had wires binded and thought if I continued I'd break something. Also on one of my pop-bumper I have a stripped screw and it's in a tight spot where no power tool will fit just a small "L"-shaped screwdriver, How on earth am I gonna get this off? Thanks and I'am also NEW but learning a much as I can from folks here. Thanks. Jeff

Working on stuff under the playfield can be challenging. You may need to get some new tools. Some that bend around corners, some that are very small, etc.

You could probably just run a business card through the leaf contacts a few times. Also there is a small tool that you can buy that helps adjust the leafs. Just bend the leafs a little closer together.

For example on my Dr Who one of the pops wasn't sensitive enough at all and barely ever fired. I could make it fire if I hit the ring hard enough but the ball hardly ever hit it that hard. I just cleaned the contacts and bent the leafs as close together as possible without touching. Fixed it right up :)
