need help with "Count-down" pinball machine

i repaired the MPU board but the displayed don't light up so most likely there's no voltage going to them. another thing is where do i put the pin-balls? there are 1 smaller pinball in the coin tray and 1 larger pinball in the coin try, where do i put them? plus i think one of the bouncers is broken in the center. the machine kicked one of the balls after i put back the MPU i repaired but it got stuck in the hole and didn't come out. is it hard to replace the the little launchers on the playing field?

Did you check the 1/4 amp slo blo fuse for the displays? Odds are it is blown if nothing at all shows on the displays.

Bay area amusements is a great place to pick up those 1.4A fuses if you do need them.

I believe the smaller balls you guys are finding are for the angle tilt mechanism. They sit in a trough in the cab (usually on the left side) and roll forward creating a tilt condition if the front of the machine is lifted.

Not in mine. The tilt assembly was intact, and there was a slightly smaller ball loaded onto the playfield. I assume an op just grabbed whatever he had sitting around.

That's what I would have assumed. That's what the smaller ball is usually intended for.

That is funny. On most newer machines the smaller ball will cause problems with the trough switches. It causes a misalignment leading to error codes. This can also happen if you happen to put larger balls, such as those sized for Bingo machines, in the trough.
