Hi,

I recently acquired a slot machine by Sigma Games in a nonworking state. The lights come on, but the LCD display is blank and none of the controls work. Coins fall directly into the tray when they are inserted. I have searched extensively online, but cannot find any information on it. The model is a Sigma Games SG-50B, in a game called "Nite Times", dated about 1993-1995. Does anyone have any info on this machine, maybe a manual? Any assistance is appreciated!

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that model. I have a Sigma SG30 upright. Is yours a reel slot or video? I believe I have a pdf manual for mine.

My model is a reel machine. I think it might be similar to the SG50, if anyone has any info on that.

I have some Sigma manuals. I have a SG-50/SG-32 Operators Manual, an SG-32B Instruction Manual, and a Sigma Mechanical Reel Slot Machine Operators Manual. If you think any of these would be helpful, PM me your email and I will scan and send you copies.

I have a couple of SG-32B machines and they had power supply issues. The fix was fairly easy though, if you have basic soldering and electrical skills.

Power Problem

Did you find what your problem was with your Sigma SG-32 slot machine? I have the same problem with my SG-32.

Sg-50, sg-32, sg-32b

From what I understand.. the SG-32 was the 'original', the SG-32B was the same board but with an 'add on' board on top to drive the bill acceptor and the SG-50 was the next model that was essentially the same but with teh bill acceptor driver built into the board.

The belly lights and reel illumintion is done with 110v that does not go through the power supply. For some reason (at least on the SG-32B) the pay off glass light is switched through the CPU board. Soo.... if you get the belly lamp and the reel lamp but not the to lamp and nothing works... you have problems with the CPU or power supply. I'm bet'n the power supply.

Here's what I've discovered. The power supply uses a Capacitor made by Rika that uses metalized (however you spell it) paper inside of it. Over time the heat causes the casing of the cap to crack and the metalized paper begins to corrode... when power is supplied this puppy heats up, shorts out and makes the magical blue smoke.

Pull out your power supply.. looking from the top with external transformer on the bottom, on the right you'll see a heat sink and just inside of that is the square cap that I am referencing. I bet that is where you problem is.

How to resolve.. dang good question! I have about 12 machines that I need power supplies for or at least a replacement cap. Neither of which I've been able to find.

Hopefully someone will read this and help us all!

The Sigma SG-50B loves to eat power supplies. Usually the capacitors start leaking then the power supply lets out the magic smoke.

If yours has a "Computer Products" or "Power Conversion America" (both became Artesyn division of Emerson Power) model NFS80-7602C, replace it with the beefier NFS110-7602J. Plug n play and has same pinouts of connectors.
