I got this a couple weeks ago but have no luck using it . I build the 6502 n.o.p. card with the instructions from this site http://gamearchive.askey.org/Video_Games/Manufacturers/Atari/signatures/6502NOP.txt But either my analyzer is no good, i build this card wrong, or i just dont know what im doing. I used the self test on the analyzer where i put the pod wires and probe in the front holes of the analyzer and i get all the right signatures but when i try it on the n.o.p. card i just wont work for me. My first question is when i wire up the pod to the n.o.p. card at first i did not hook up the ground to the pod or the ground to the probe. At that point i just got alor of different incorrect signatures. If i hook up the ground to the ground test pin on my centipede board then i wont get any signatures at all it stays at 0000. I also tried connecting the ground on the probe but no different. If any body can post a quick tutorial on the correct way to hook this up i will greatly appreciate it. Here are some picks of the card i build.

First, is the 6502 good.
Next the wiring of the 6502 looks correct, but it's hard to tell if the wire from pin 6 is going to pin 26, or 25.

When you plug the NOP into the DUT you need to make sure you have a clock signal. If the Clock on your board is bad, it won't work correctly.

Make sure the Start, Stop, and Clock are all set to negative trigger.

Connect Start Stop to the Green wire, and the Clock to the White/Green and Ground to Ground.

Then probing those pins from the instructions you should get those sigs.

I can tell you that you will not get atari signatures using this setup. You will either need to find 5004 signatures, or build a clock divider circuit with a flip flop.

Thanks for the info. I got it working now i was trying to get sigs without applying power to the board. Would you happen to have instructions on building and using a clock divider circuit? Until i get one could i just take signatures from a working board? One last question my probe has seen better days it led is out and im missing the tip and cover that lights up . Anywhere i could get parts for this?

Yes, if you have a known good board you can write down the sigs from it, and use those. But since generally atari sigs are readily available it makes sense to just divide the clock to get a normal cat box like sig.

You can build a divide by 2 circuit using a 7474 flip flop just use a 7474 put power and gnd to it. Input your clock signal from the 6502 to the clock in on the 7474. Then take the /Q and feed that into the D, and use the Q as your new clock for the 5004.

About half way down on that page will be the divide by 2 clock circuit.

I have to check but I may have a parts unit with a good probe.
When I get home friday evening from work I'll take a look and let you know.
