Hey guys,

I know it's been a while since I've posted and I apologize. I am hoping to get back into some pinball action with this post.

I am looking at a Lethal Weapon 3 that is not 100% working. The price is $475, let me explain what is wrong.

It turns on, starts a game, the lights, switches, sounds, and display all work. However, the display is slightly buggy and seems a little fuzzy/off. It still does its job though. The biggest problem is that the flippers and the shooter don't work. I'm guessing it's the fuse controlling those two but I don't know for sure unless I try...and I don't want to tip off the seller to trying this and him keeping the game.

Is $475 a fair price for the game? I know they're a sub $1000 game in the first place so I really wanted another opinion as money is short. What do you think? Thanks! :)

I paid $ 850 in Aug 08 for mine and it was in extremely good condition and had been shopped. I find it to be a blast to play and is a favorite of guest to my game room. If yours is in good condition and needs a DMD and a fuse at worst then the price sounds about right. Good luck with the aquisition.

Thanks for the input. There are a couple of cosmetic issues with it but nothing that bothers me.

I forgot to mention that the pop bumpers seem weak so I'm assuming this is a solenoid replacement. Another thing I should factor into the price?

I am not a good tech at all so I will defer to the others that know much more than me but if one bumper was weak I would think a coil but if all three are equally weak could it be a voltage problem? Combined with the flipper and shooter coils that do not work could this be indicitive of a power supply issue? I am asking the question to those of you that know more than me.

Yuck, does anybody else have an opinion on kidorbit's latest reply? That sounds like something I don't want to get into. Not the cheap project I was hoping to get into.

I might just pick up the Smash TV nearby and call it a good month :)

The power supply can be suspect in DE games. The connectors get burned up.

Talk him down to $400, and that will cover a power supply replacement.

Connectors burn up in all pins. In fact, nothing is more suspect than the dang GI connectors in Williams and Bally games. It's a pretty easy repair. I just did one for The Getaway a few weeks back.

Actually the power supply could be causing the DMD issue too....I had these same symptoms on a DE Checkpoint.

I thought about this pin to, but passed since not sure it would be worth it depending on the amount of work it needs.
