OK,.
so i recently bought a MK in a conversion cab, very average condition cab.
No sideart or anything,
bought it for $180
got it home,.to find ROM fails and sounds probs and color dullness,.
QUESTION IS:
Somebody now is willing to come to my house,.and buy it for $250
is that too low? Is it reasonable for both? Who wins there?
It is my on ly game with 5 buttons,.which comes in handy,.and MK is a pretty fun game.
BUT,. i need a new PCB likely,.or board repair,.and i dont lose money to just sell it.
Would you guys keep it? Sell it for $250 and look for another MK all together,.any advice?
Im not great in business,.and often get lowballed. I just cant tell if my MK is worth more because of anything,.or if i should ditch it!
thankyou.

No worries if you sell it for 250$, you only paid 180$, if its in a conversion cab and doesn't work, 250$ is really high, so if you can get 250$ for it, take the money and run, in all honesty sounds like a game i would only pay max 60$ for, if that

I would sell and look for a dedicated cab myself. They are willing to pay $250 in the
condition you describe? Sell! Sell!

MK boards are not that expensive:

$75.00 BIN

Somebody wants to pay you $250 for a non-working game.
In my opinion you're getting the better end of that deal.

Sell! Sel! Sell!

Unless you plan on fixing it up, get rid of it. You can use the $250 and buy a game in better shape or buy two in similar shape. lol :p

My opinion is that the cab you have is "worth" in the $50 to $100 range. My advice: sell, sell, sell before he comes to his senses! :D

thnx guys

thankyou guys.
Very helpful and poilte.
It isnt broken per say.
It does play fine. The test screen always comes on before game starts showing ROM fail,
then the game starts as normal with muffled sound and weaks reds..
not right.,absolutley,.broken,.i dunno.
But either way,.its sold if hes serious,.which he sounds it!
thankyou

If someone wants to pay you $250 for a non-working MK in a conversion cab, you take the money and run as fast as you can.

ok

So issues means non working?
Im just trying to learn,.if a game in Arcade World isnt perfect,.it is considered broken?
If he calls,.its his.
thanks guys

It sounds like there is a misunderstanding on the issues your board has, but in any case generic Jamma cabs such as yours go for ~$100 all the time. You would spend more than that getting a new board and fixing the monitor. Sell and use the $250 to upgrade to something nicer.

Working All The Way (WATW) means it works with no "issues" (at least to me).

Some issues are bigger than others, though.

There is no perfect. :)

I get tired of seeing the its a 100 dollar game shit, its worth whatever it sells for.Its hard around here to find anything decent for less than 200 bucks. They sell empty cabs around here for 150 so go figure. If you can make a buck on the deal and arent happy with the cab and dont think its worth your effort to restore that cab then by all means sell it. the conversions play just as well as the dedicated ones if its a good conversion but Dedicated is worth more obviously. Sounds like you are already questioning it so sounds like you want to sell it anyway, MK's are still a dime a dozen so I dont think it will be too long before you find a decent dedicated MK pop up. I see em once a month around here in the 400-600 range dedicated cabs in decent to excellent condition.

I prefer the dynamo cab because it's easier to haul around, though it is very top heavy.
But an mk1 in a conversion cab is not very valuable as a general rule. I would want a dedicated cab if I owned my place and was not intending to move anytime soon.

thnx ghost

thankyou Ghost,.and others.
I agree with the "its worth what you can sell it for"
though,.at times,.i feel like $180 for it was high
most my games on average do cost $100 working or $150 working AND delivered,.
$400 sounds obsurd fora n arcade game..but i hear games sell for thousands..
thanx all for the insight,.and thankyou to whoever posts after me.

tron

Im in your boat.
I dont own,.and AM moving soon as well.
I was just looking at my whopping 6 games thinking,.how the hell am i gonna move these.
But some of you guys own hundreds and manage.
I prefer small NOW,.but am leaning towards future purchases being only dedicateds if possible.
thnx

sell it and run!!

You can find MK1 and MK2 conversions all day long that work for $250 or cheaper. For not much more you could have a nice dedicated cabinet if you look long enough and wait for the best deal.

As long as the buyer isn't a Prince from Nigeria offering to pay you $500 in a cashier's check with you refunding $250 to his trusted business associate, then I see nothing wrong.

SELL!

lol

I have got that "Prince from Nigeria" crap. Too funnny.
Sometimes there is a great long story to read. I read it and laugh that somebody took the time to write it and do it.
What a joke!
