I picked up some cabinets yesterday that had Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II in them but I want to identify the original cabs. The cab in the back is the one with Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting and the back panel has some stuff for Dig Dug but I don't remember seeing Dig Dug look like this cabinet. The black cabinet has an inspection stamp from May 1982 on the inside portion of the control panel. The back panel also has hinges on it to open it. Does anyone have any idea what these could have been?

Robotron 2084

Thanks for the help. I just looked up Robotron and it definitely appears as though that is it. I was thinking the bottom coin door was put on by an owner of the cab but it appears to be a stock part.

I'll post some better pics of the wood paneled cab in the back later. I don't think I submitted very good pics of it as it appears in the background.

The one in the back looks like a Centipede with wood laminate on it.

Here are some better pics of the cab with the wood laminate.

Here are some pics of the CPO from the white cabinet. My budy was trying to chip away at the overlay on the top so we could see what was under it.

That looks like another conversion game overlay under the Final Fight one. I have usually found that most classic cabs with a SF II era kit in them tended to have gone through a 1985-1986 era conversion as well.

That's interesting. I think another possible clue to this cabs origins may lay with the iso transformer. It looks like it's in the origianal spot as I don't see any other screw holes or other signs of tamepring but it is huge and has an outlet plug. None of the cabinets wiring seems out of place except for the jamma conversion harness. All of the screws that hold down the wiring are also square heads.

That yellow, blue and green overlay is from P.O.W., but that's not a dedicated P.O.W. cab.

Oh and the cab's monitor mount looks like it orignally was designed for a vertical monitor but has been cut a bit to accomodate a horizontal monitor.

Except for the lack of a hole on the control panel, the cabinet sure looks like a centipede. A key element is the shape of the sides going up from the control panel, with the bezel set in around 3 inches.
