I have acquired a small number of monitors that have burn in from keno and vidoe poker machines. I'm struggling to identify a TATUNG VT-1980L. I think it might be a VGA, but I don't know.

Also, around 10 of these 19" monitors have the microtouch touchscreen glass on them. Do these have any value? Is it OK to slice the rubber off that is holding them onto the CRTs? Is there a preferred way to remove them from the CRT?

I'm pretty new to this stuff, but I don't want these things to go to the recycler if they have a use by others.

TIA

Dental floss or monofilament fishing line works pretty well for slicing through the sticky strips. After that, a razor scraper and Goo Gone or something similarly oily to remove the remnants. Touchscreens and their controllers are not cheap, so yes they have some value if working.

i could use a couple working touchscreens, be careful taking them off so you don't damage the wires that are under the black tape on the touchscreen
