Need help getting plugged into competitive playing retro game community.

Greetings.

I am interested in getting involved with running retro arcade game tournaments, and trying to find where to get plugged into. Like, is there any organization for playing retro arcade games like they have for Pinball (I believe that group is PAPA). I have been running stuff for at least 6 months over XBox Live Arcade, including Pinball FX2 and Game Room. But, I want to have things go beyond that and tie into a larger community. What I have worked on so far can be seen on the 'CADERS facebook group (enter CADERS.com in web browser), but am up for more.

So, interested in some leads here. Would like to be part of having "PGA for Pacman" (and other games), or a retro version of "Major League Gaming".

Any tips would be appreciated.

www.twingalaxies.com is the group that keeps track of high scores for most gaming. Although I'm not sure that's what you really are talking about of care about. There are a number of arcades that organize competitive classic gaming events. I believe most of the time the focus is players trying to break a world record. Not sure but I imagine some give prizes for high score placement during that particular tournament. I know this has been done in the past with fighting games. At CAX there is a tournament for fun where there are a few games listed (maybe 8) and you sign up and play. Basically put up your best score and someone keeps track of it. At the end of a certain amount of time the competition is over and the player with the highest score on each game wins. I think they give a trophy for the winner of each game.

Isn't there a dude named riche k who lives in NJ and hosts game tournaments in his arcade?
