Need help getting memory for World Series The Season

Hello all...I've recently began my childhood dream to have my own arcade in my house. I just bought my first game...World Series The Season. What I'm trying to figure out is how to get them memory to work or how to add memory to it. When I played this game in the late 80's, it kept your stats based on the username, birthdate, etc that you entered.

So....how do I do this?

Thanks guys/gals. I'm obviously brand new to this, but can't wait to fill up my room..I want to add Super Mario Bros, GNR Pinball, Galaga first. And while I have you, there was another video game that I loved that was like Mario in that it scrolled across, but i cannot remember the characters in it...the only thing I remember is that you could get a little angel (or multiple) to follow behind you to protect you. Ring any bells to anyone.

Thanks again,
Steve

memory is either kept by NVRAM or a battery. I'd check for a battery first...

Forgive me, but I'm brand new at this....can you expand on your suggestion? What kind/where would I look for a battery? And what is NVRAM?

Thanks for being patient!

RAM is memory that saves info, like what your score currently is. However, it only works while the power is on, which they call "volatile".

NVRAM is Non-Volatile RAM, which means it remembers the info even with the power off.

It is not likely that your game will have NVRAM unless someone went in after the fact.

As for a battery, it could look like a regular AA battery (or a couple of them) in a holder, one that is soldered on, one that is round like a watch battery, a short one like a camera battery, etc.

Look at your circuit board. You'll see two 3V batteries as circled in the picture below. If you know how, you can measure them to see if they measure 3Vdc. Most likely they are dead. If you can solder, you can take them off and take them to a Batteries Plus or similar store to buy some new ones exactly like those...
