Ok here is my situation...I have 2 games sitting in Embrun Ontario that I have been trying to get shipped but have not had much luck so I need some help. I am looking for someone with a passport to pick these games up and store them for me in Upstate New York or preferrably in the upper peninsula of Michigan for a few weeks. I will provide more details if this is something anyone would consider. We can work out something monetarily or thru trades. I am open to all offers.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

To the Canada guys...what is a reputable shipping company within Canada?

Thanks!
Jeremy

If it was closer to Niagara Falls I could go grab them for you, but that is a haul to where there located. According to mapquest it's 366 miles.

Need help with broker

Ok so I arranged shipping but now I need to find a broker to get these games across the border. Anyone here had to do this before?

I appreciate any and all info including contacts.

Thanks,
Jeremy

a broker... customs broker.. You probably need a US-side one to do it. If the shipper you are using can bond the shipment, then you can clear yourself if you have a local customs office... search the net for a broker.. does not need to be anywhere near your location as its done via fax easily..

I bought 2 Em games from a fella last year in the Ontario area. I never needed to get a "broker." They did charge the guy some customs funds to cross but if I recall it wasn't too much.....

It depends on the shipper.. some have an in-house broker and charge the fees to you (UPS..etc), some can ship the freight 'in bond' to which you need to act as a broker.. the shipping co. faxes you the paperwork when item hits border, you clear it and fax the paperwork back...while freight keeps moving.. the 'trust' of customs is covered by the fact the shipper is bonded and is covering you. if you take too long, it goes to a bonded warehouse to sit which will cost you $$$. Usually if I do this, I make sure I get, clear, and fax back the paperwork within the same morning or afternoon sort of thing. But more often than not nowadays the shipping co. doesn't want the hassle, risk, and just wants a broker to deal with to clear it all prior to crossing the border.

This is good info. This is actually the first shipment I have had to coordinate and it has not been to successful until today.

Thanks again for your input!
