need help finding info on WICO CRT Pattern Generator

I picked up one of these pattern generators and need a manual (but there are not model # markings on it).. the back of it has a hand drawn connections, but i dont know if it is representing the male molex or the female molex that is on the machine.

also, i guess i need to intercept the 120v with an ISO transformer before using on the monitors, correct?

Yes with the raster model you will need to provide isolated power to the monitor if you are running the signal to a color monitor. If yours came with a cable for black and white monitors, the pattern generator will power the black and white monitor directly.

More on the XY model at ionpool.net and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.

thanks! I honestly didnt even think to look for the adaptor cables, figuring that when i saw the molex, i could make my own. for all i know, they could have been on the shelf below where i found this. Heck there was a 4 foot round pile of wire about 2 feet high next to the shelf.. it could have been in there too..

off to radio shack for the molex now..

The raster model came with two cables:

One for black and white monitors and one for color raster monitors. The drawback on the color monitors is that the pattern generator puts out POSITIVE sync only. So you can only use it with monitors that can accept positive sync also.

with the positive sync issue, does that mean i wont be able to use it to check out WG4600, 4900, 7000, etc.. How do i tell which 'accept' positive synce because all of the chassis that i am familiar with have the pin but no wire going to it.

If i cant use it for the monitors above (and a few more), is it worthwhile to keep around or find a new home for it?

Wells 4600 (with certain video interface cards that accept positive sync), 4900, k7000, 7400, 7500, u2000, u5000 (set to standard res) and Electrohome G07 will all work with this unit.

I modified my own personal Wico pattern generator with switch selectable positive or negative sync output.
