I can't believe I'm having such a hard time find the pinout for the Nintendo inverter. I would like to have the pinouts for Video IN and out plus power. I'm trying to make a Jamma adapter so that I can play Mario Brothers in a Jamma Cabinet. I need the pinouts of the inverter so I can hook it in to the adapter.

You do know there are pre-made nintendo-to-JAMMA adatpers with audio amps and video inverters available all over the place, right? No reason to hack something together.

I put this adapter together years ago but some wires have come loose so I want the full pinout. I'd rather not spend $45 to get a new adapter.

Two of the pins are tied together as ground, so that will let you figure out which pin is Green. I can't remember if it's pin 1 or pin 6.

As for the 3-pin connector, I pin 3 (or is it pin 1? whichever is farthest from the color pots) is +12VDC...

so that I can play Mario Brothers in a Jamma Cabinet.

Clarify that a bit.... as a standard Nintendo inverter doesn't work "backwards".
It's designed to run standard games on a Nintendo monitor, not Nintendo games on a standard monitor.

But here's a basic pinout I done up years ago.
The two outputs match the input.

Power is not required when running a Nintendo game on the input and through the Non-Invert Out.
(it merely bypasses the board)
And you can use 12v for the 16v for power when needed.

EDIT: Heh.... ya beat me to it. :)

Works both ways.

The board's got a 12v zener to 'regulate' the power coming in, so you can use just about any voltage >12v (within reason) to power it.

Works both ways.

So with a traditionally inverted Nintendo game like DK or Mario Brothers on the input.....connecting to a standard monitor...... you would use the "Invert Out" then ?
Re-Invert the inverted so to speak ?

Hadn't really thought through that scenario, nor tried it.
