I recently picked up a need for speed, but it is freezing up every so often and spitting out some errors on the screen.

Of course it didn't come with the recovery disks.

Any thoughts on where to get these?

These computers from the factory usually have a 3-5 year lifespan. Just an fyi unless you can repair computers its about $400-$600 when it goes out.

Ah, alright thanks!

The game plays great for a few hours and then I get a windows runtime error on the screen. I have experience with computers, but not a computer arcade combo of sorts.

I'm going to guess it may need to be reinstalled as it seems to have been messed with and not functioning properly any longer

I am expecting in the next month or so to get 2 in though, if you havent solved your problem by then shoot me a pm as a reminder in about a month and I could let you borrow one as long as you sent it back.

Hey, that could be cool. I'd totally send em back priority.

also, is that just a regular pentium 4? For instance, could I just get a little better computer, load the game on it and I would assume set the boot priority to the cd rom drive?

Both video cards and motherboards on these machines have severe capacitor issues. Also, check the power supply, as they are GARBAGE. All three of the NFS cabs I've worked on have used DFI cases with LinkWorld power supplies. Absolute GARBAGE.

Personally, I'd just recommend shotgunning all caps on the mobo and video card. At a minimum, look for bulged and/or leaking caps. That's a tell-tale indicator of issue.
