Ok, I think I know which way Im leaning - but I wanted to ask other pinheads their thoughts :

I have room for ONE more pin in my room and I am trying to decide between a Simpsons PP or a Tron. The Tron would be new TSPP would be a shopped machine from a great vendor. The Tron wll cost about $1400 more when done.

I played a Tron at Disney on Saturday and it was a fast and fun game. It didnt seem too deep or tough overall, but I only got to play 3 games.

I TRIED to play a TSSP today but it had a ball missing and multiple broken switches. I must admit that overall this machine seemed to be a better fit for a Pinball freak like me ... But the Disney freak in me likes Tron ...

Can anyone offer some insight? Im not even sure what kind of insight Im looking for....

Thanks!

Easy one. Tron is much more fun - a blast to play. TSPP lasted here for a few months, but just never felt it / had fun with it.

Tron is pretty "deep" too. TSPP - Deep game - yes. Most owners never get to see it all.

My wife is leaning towards Tron for many reasons - Disney Fan and it would be our first Brand New Pin....

I would go TSPP and stick the $1400 in the pin fund for the next time you sell/trade up, but I like TSPP and the Tron theme does nothing for me.

I keep reading about TSPP being the deepest game of all time and all that, but that theme is just so beat. I like the Simpsons and all, I just think its a lame theme for a pin.

I'd go with Tron. Cool colors and the theme is a natural for anyone into gaming. No sense saving money if its the last slot, anyway! ;)

Ah - too true, overall - No more slots, no money needed ... lol

I didnt have a ton of time with the Tron but it did seem like a fast machine .... It will be the piece in my game room that is most visable so a new Tron looks even better than a shopped Simpsons....

Well here's my opinion...looking at your lineup if you get TSPP you're probably going to sell TZ. I just don't think that there's any way to really go back to TZ once you've played TSPP, just crushes it from a ruleset standpoint and they're kind of similar in a lot of aspects. So my advice would be TSPP then sell TZ buy Tron. :)

I'd get the Tron, if money wasn't an issue. Only the LE though..

TSPP is great too, especially if you like the theme, and deep games.

Can't go wrong either way really, I'd love to have them both in my collection..

Sell TZ?!?!?! I doubt that will happen in my lifetime - Thats my first pin, it was 2 years old when I got it, its in great shape - and besides, Im a TZ fan (Even have a signed Check from Rod Serlings personal bank account framed with a picture thats next to my Walt Disney check in my Family Room).

Now, with that said - This has to be one of tha hardest decisions I have had to make in a long time. If I had more room, It wouldnt be anywhere near as bad. After this I would need to sell either a pin or my Super Chexx.

The theme on both sides is cool with me, Im not a Tron freak but enjoyed both movies and the Simpsons is a show my wife and I love to watch. I wish the TSPP that we played yesterday worked, it had so many switches broken that the game play was Aweful (Since it would hold a ball until it searched and finally kicked it out, and it always thought a ball was missing and usually kicked a second ball out - so you never played with one ball..) So that killed it for my wife, right away she said Tron :)

Ok, just needed to post that I went with Tron (Not, LE - I know, stop booing) - I just couldnt justify the extra cost for the added lights/etc.

My wife was the deciding factor - We played Tron in Disney and it took 4 days locally but finally played a TSPP and she liked it but liked Tron better (as well as the NIB factor).

So just waiting for Trent to get my Bank Draft and send one out to me ... Killing me to wait now!

go with the TRON

I know that many might disagree, but the action and feel of the original TRON is better play than the MAME versions. I believe that at least the TRON that I played recently at Disney was a MAME version and the action is more erratic. There are some decent original machines out there in the same price range you quoted. They do have their challenges since they're quite old, but see if you can get a play on an original tron.
