I have a chance to pick this up for a good price i think and was wondering if I should jump. When I turn it on the digital displays blinker and I could hear some sounds one time then that's about it. The displays stayed in for about a min one time but I couldn't get it to credit up. It has a piece of tape on it that says the pcb that powers playfield lights is bad and the pcb was laying on the top of the machine. The machine is about 8/10 shape as far as looks. Here are some pics. Should I buy it? how much are these worth in 8/10 shape fully working?

Fully working? I'd say $1500.

I let one with exploded glass go at last year's MOMA auction for under $700. I should have grabbed it.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN FRONT OF YOUR KEYBOARD!?!??!

To quote the infamous HHaase in another thread:

ha, easy now, this isnt going anywhere but with me, i have visited these guys 8 different times and are good friends with them now, they wanted 800$ and they said if anyone else came in they would not get my price for 500$, no one else knows about this so its staying where its at until two weeks form now until i have time to pick it up, i can visit it everyday if i want, its already been claimed for me along with some other goodies ill be posting soon

You didn't want that EATPM with the busted glass at the auction. It had more issues than just glass bits everywhere. I was shocked it went that high...basically a grand after fees. A good condition working EATPM is about a $1,200 game.

Edit: $500 is a total no-brainer.

If you haven't handed them any money then that really don't mean jack if someone offers them the 800.

If this is your first pin, I would say "no" _unless_ you are used to buying your video games broken and fixing them. Cap kits, removing bad RAM and soldering sockets into game boards, tracing shorts in a wiring harness, etc.

Pins also cost more to rehab than games, if it's your first you will be spending $100 easy on wax, lights, rubber, novus, new balls, metal polish, etc. And you will probably find a couple broken targets, a weak flipper and a cracked plastic. Costs add up fast.

That said, pins are awesome, EatPM is popular and even if you sunk $500 into it after purchase (which is not unreasonable, BTW) you would be able to sell it for more than you had in it. This is pretty risk free on your part. So if you can do the repairs, and have the time and money, go for it.

what he said = money pit, I have a love hate relationship with mine. Right now I hate It cause It's broke, but I'll throw more money at It and get it working then ill forget how much i have in it and play it and love it, then it WILL break again and ill hate it again and throw more money at it and love it again and...................

If its complete its a great buy. But like others have mentioned, it could turn into a money pit and eat some time up to get it going, depending on what the issues acually are with it.

That's the interconnect PCB that bridges the power transformer to the other boards in the backbox, they are commonly broken and headers toasted. I'd try to get it for less than $800. Fully working in nice shape I have seen them sell for ~ $1200.
