Need advice on a possible Super Off Road restoration

Hey guys,

I have had a Super Off Road in storage for around a year. Got it cheap (free) but it was non working and in pretty rough cosmetic shape. I am in the process of cleaning out my garage and was thinking I would get it working and sell it cheap just to make space.

I spent a hour or so on it today and got it working. It's really fun! Very nice picture and all controls work. I am thinking about keeping it but I don't want a junker in my collection. I have vinyl from TOG for the front and sides but reproduction CPO's and side art are nowhere to be found.

Has anyone tried to restore one of these things? Have you been able to find artwork somewhere? Having an all black cabinet is pretty boring.

Thanks for any advice.

It was waaaay back in the garage. I am finally able to get back there now after selling 11 games. :)

Reproduction art for Super Off Road should be available soon. Me and ZORK2 sent our side art and CPO to Tarman over at BYOAC and he did a great job cleaning them up and vectoring them. I know he finished the CPO and believe the side art is finished aswell. I'll let you know any updates about the project.

The plan was to send it off to mamemarquees, but I would really like them to be screen printed. Anyone know who would take on the job of reproducing these?

Here's ZORK2's restoration thread over at BYOAC.

It looks like Rich (I think RikiTiki here) will be doing a run for Super Sprint. Maybe you can talk him into a run for offroad as well. He does great work, so I would suggest asking him first.

Rich uses solvent printers for one offs, and I have tested most all the solvent printers available and I have never seen anything that can match the 12 ink Pigment printers that I use. Granted, the Solvent is MUCH cheaper to print with and can last outdoors longer with no lamination, but the print quality is not close. Now if your'e talking Silk screening... that is a different story.

Thanks

Scott
