Can someone take a quick photograph of where the 3 pin power connector on the CPU board goes to? I don't think I can connect it directly to a switching power supply with arcadeshop's conversion kit installed and the game won't put if this connector isn't feeding power in.

Thanks,
-BB

I don't have a pic for you but I do know that the pin to the left (near the side of board) goes to +12 then ground then +5. Be very careful not to switch the two as you will fry the chips. I still check the pins with a meter. The 12 volts goes to the audio amp chip and +5 can be tested (ohm meter) from pin on right to any of the vcc on the chips.
I usually only put the +12 and +5 volts from my supply to the pins and put my pink pet eraser in between them so they cant touch as I am using aligator clips to do this.

I don't think this is what you want but I don't have a cabinet or wiring harness but when I test these boards I am very careful with this connector.
#1=+12
#2=Gnd
#3=+5
I don't hook up the ground as I don't want to chance shorting my supply or board. I am using a computer power supply and without the ground on pin 2 it works.

I need to know where the wires actually go - can I connect them directly to my switching PS even with the arcade shop conversion on it? Most of the pictures I've seen have this 3 prong cable feeding into the main harness atop the CPU board (but I can't make it out).

here is another pic for what I think you need. It is not really good but it looks like that connector gets its power from the 44 pin connector.

You want to keep the wires short and looks like they come right off the 44 pin connector. The connector in the above pic you want to look at is to the right of connector top.
If I had a pic of what you got might help me some. Just make double shure that you get them right. (1) +12 (2) gnd (3) +5 and you can pull theses off the 44 pin connector.

Thanks, I'll post pics this week of what I've got going on (my cpu is out for repair at the moment), but I can still show you the harness situation and where the wires got cut.

Just curious what was your problem with the pcb and where did you send it>?

PCB was dirty, showed garbage near the sprites and had lost sound. Sent it to David @ arcade repair (he has galaga repair ads on ebay currently).

As for my issue with the 3 pin connector - I found the wires in the main harness that were cut, so I can easily fix them now!
