So, the time has come for me to get rid of my old Harbour Freight meter after two years of arcade collecting. I need a meter that has a beep check and can calibrate the HV on a 19V2000 B&W vector monitor (16K volts I believe). What do ya'll recommend????

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my FLUKE 117 (not sure about your HV, don't you need a step down thingee???):

Get a Fluke. Possibly the best brand out there. Sure they're pricy, but it will last you forever.

None are going to test 16K volts without a special adaptor probe. Fluke's HV probe costs about $180.

And you can get a decent meter with beep at Harbor Freight for under $20. I've got one right now. The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't have an auto-off if I forget to turn it off...

I've messed around with a bunch of them, and the problem I've always had with the cheap meters is that as the battery dies the readings start getting crazy. Basically, you can't trust them to give you an accurate reading, because the battery might be low.

I've got several flukes, and they give an accurate reading right up until the battery dies. I swear by them now. GO FLUKE AND FORGET IT

I got my Fluke from a place in Austin that was selling them on ebay for $50 and they were NOS. Ebay is the place to get an HV probe be it new or used.

buy 2 cheap meters. One to check the bats in the other one. Take the other hundred bucks you'd have spent on that fluke (that you'll use once or twice a year) and buy another game with it.
