Need a little advice (first post too!)

Christ, went to talk to the guy today to arrange collection of some cabs tomorrow and enquired about the machines on the ground floor unit (the newer and bigger machines, like driving/shooting etc), to see how much he wanted for the Star Wars Trilogy (upright cab) and he said I could take that too ... everything must go :)

I'm thinking of renting out a storage unit and taking everything I can and selling them (the ones I don't want myself), I'm not working at the moment, so it would be a nice earner.

Yes, do this.

You have received the coolest gift, ever. Git'r done!

just checked my phone and found that I had 1 pic of a cab I was looking at (this is one of the ones on the ground floor). As I said, whatever I take I'll post some pics.

Next time you go back the guy's going to be like "now, if only I could get someone to date my 3 supermodel daughters."

No such luck with the model daughters!! Think my luck's actually run out.

Here are 2 of the cabs I got today (my backs aching after hauling them about the place), and when I finally turned them on the Monitor in the NBA game won't work (screen just looks like it's off) while the Last Bronx cab's monitor looks like you're watching just a loada horizintal white lines. Knew there'd be a catch :(

Psssh, that's okay. I'm sure you'll get them up & running.

wish I had your faith in me :)

As I'm new to arcade machines I have no knowledge about what the problem could be with both of them ... time to start scouring the web!!!

That's why you grab everything you can. Somewhere in there there is bound to be a game that doesn't work, but has a great looking monitor. :D

Take pictures of the monitor (especially the chassis) and drop over to the monitor repair forum. Somebody will probably recognize it a tell you how to make sure it is really broken and how to fix it.

I know this probably sounds a bit stupid, but you can actually tell what's wrong with a montior just by looking at a photo of the back of it?

I kind of got disheartened when I turned both cabs on and there was something wrong with both of them. If I can get this problem resolved it will put a spring back into my step and I'll be more up to the task of going back to that basement and hauling more heavy cabs up 2 flights of stairs!!! :)

The picture of the back will be enough to know what it is and then they can work through the common problems with that type of monitor. The one that is semi-working, someone might be able to tell you exactly what you need to do. Sometimes they just need adjustment. The semi-working one may be that simple since your description does apply to certain out of adjustment cases, but that is where the picture will help.

Yes, please post pics of each monitor, working or not focus your camera on the circuit board. For the one that works, send a pic of the image on the front too.
