need 1950's wood finish advice

ive got a 50's shuffle bowler, and the wood finish is pretty nice, a few stains and blemishes. it looks like oak ? is there a polish or cleaner i can use to even out the look. i was thinking possibly 0000 steel wool and then polish, but i'm pretty lost when it comes to wood finishes and dont want to ruin anything.

Normally I don't put much faith in shortcut "mechanic in a can" type products, but we refinished the oak cabinets in our kitchen with a one step product and it worked very very well.

Prior to using this stuff, the finish was worn and had a variety of defects from 14 years of daily use, afterwards, I was amazed. Honestly, I couldn't have done better if I'd stripped every cabinet and totally refinished them the traditional way, this stuff was much easier!

Here's the link, it comes in 4 different finish tones and we used 0000 steel wool to apply it per the directions:
