Ugh.

I guess it was my turn, since it's only the 2nd time in 25+ years of collecting, but still a bummer.

It was an absolutely pristine Funai CR31 that I grabbed out of a TV years ago. I bumped it by mistake, and was shocked when I heard a crack and the telltale hissssssss.

Maybe the arcade gods are telling me not to work on monitors on Friday the 13th...this is a true HORROR! :ROFLMAO:

I'm sorry for your loss.

Hopefully, you can find an electronic recycling place to take it.

I've done it once....it is a terrible feeling hearing that sound.

I am not part of this club and do not plan on joining it. :)
Nobody plans on joining it....
....haste or a lack of patience or diligence allows people to join it.

Much like the "Landed Gear Up" club, every opportunity you have to join the club is directly related to how you conduct yourself.

Follow the checklist / rules, you usually won't join.

Don't - Welcome to the Club!

Two days ago I did the same. Beautiful CR31 Philips tube I had swapped in early this year. I was reaching up inside to work on the power switch (Williams) and as I brought my left hand down, my wedding ring caught on the corner of the K7000 neck board. The neck board flexed back toward me a bit and snapped back into place. I heard it and the neck make a vibrating thummmm sort of tone like a tuning fork. Then a very faint sssssss. I was shocked and sickened. I think that the neck had taken greater incidental impacts in the past, but this one just got it in the wrong spot, I suppose.
