A buddy recently gave me a G07 that looks incredible, zero burn at all. But it has one BIG problem - one of the pins on the neck is broken off, and a couple others are bent over. Is this trash, or is there a way to attach a new pin? The neck board socket looks fine, I thought if I could find the right diameter pin, I could cut a piece to fit the neck board socket and have it stick out a little so that once it's in place it would contact the broken pin, but I'm not sure if that will work. Any suggestions?

Is the pin broken off flush with the glass, or is there still some pin protruding?

If there is enough pin sticking out, you *could* try sliding an appropriately sized molex pin over the tube pin, and run a wire from the other end of the molex pin to the back side solder pad of the tube socket.

Another option would be soldering the pin (if it is made out of solderable metal) but I would do this only as a LAST resort (i.e. if you only have a tiny nub protruding from the glass). When you heat up metal, it expands, and you don't want that happening too much with metal that is surrounded by a glass tube holding a vacuum..

Good luck!

It's broken off flush... I haven't even tried the monitor yet, I'll swap the chassis for one that I have that I know works and see if the pin is indeed needed. If it is, I'll try to solder it, nothing to lose at that point. I'll post the outcome. :)

Have you pulled the plastic guide piece off? It might be flush with the guide, but still some sticking out of the glass...

pin

That is what i was thinking reading these posts. Take of the plastic guide and solder a wire on the pin and loop it back to the neck board spot.
