Have a chassis with the attached neck board on it. It's a G07 chassis but the tube is long gone. All the donor tubes I've come upon have the "v" cut out near the lone pin so they won't work. Haven't been able to locate a neck board/tube ID photo page, either.

What kind of tube would this be - a CR-23 or another one?

Thx! :)

It should be if it's a G07, but it looks like either the cutout got filled with silicone or it's not a G07-CB0.

If it is a CB0 with some weird socket, you can either change out the socket or take the plastic pin guide off the tube..

Yup, it's a CBO and that part is solid - no silicone filling in any slits.

Question about removing the pin guide - that part doesn't help keep the vacuum intact in the tube? Never removed one but I have broken a neck and heard the HISSSSSSS of death before. :(

So, just need a tip or two for removing that seemingly solid part without the HISSSSS occurring.

No, it's just siliconed onto the end of the glass tube around the pins. Use a razor blade to slice through the silicone all the way around, then pull straight off so no pins get bent.

Or - use your razor blade to cut the walls off around the focus pin...

That weird insert is actually the pin guide from the old monitor. Just push it out from the back of the neckboard and you should be good to go. I have seen this alot lately with G07 and 4900 chassis...

Ah yes, you're right. The plastic guide from a tube came off into the neck socket.

I checked this thread and pic with my phone, and din't see that from the small pic...
