Neat looking games never found...

Dude steal me a copy! I'll chase down a Qix boardset just to convert it, I LOVE rare stuff! :D

I hope he's at least backed up the ROMs? He could very well have the last one in existance, and I'd hate to see it go the way of Bouncer!

On the Taito Black Widow, those are his CP and marquee. I've been trying to get the ROMs out of him for several years. He's actually ok with it me getting them, but he says they are in a big stash of stuff that he just hasn't had the time or desire to go through. I have the feeling when he's finally ready to just dump the stuff, I'll get a call then.

On the Vertigo, I've talked to him once and he clearly wasn't interested in talking about it or talking to any collectors. I talked to one collector that bought some stuff off him once and he said the guy was very difficult to deal with and just had no interest in any of it. And he didn't want to sell it either. It sounds like he'll be dying with it and then his next of kin will be dumping it. Scott Evans found a CP and manual (and a few other parts) for this game on an op raid (I've seen photos Scott has posted before many years ago). Maybe he'll post these again?

I found the VB Scramble cp overlay plastic and lower marquee.

I also have parts for Cops N Robbers (this is the Ataru game we are talking about?)

I have a complete cp and a couple of monitor plex. I think I have some pcb's for it. Not sure if I have a complete set.

As long as at least one working cab is safely in the hands of a collector and will be preserved I'll be happy, it kills me when a game is lost forever like it looks like Bouncer might be.

Joe, I went and looked back at rgvac archive, and saw some of your older posts. One was also from Andy (friend?) who had some interesting insight! It was going to be housed in a Kram color cab (Kram was the only game that had the red style cab.) I also found this quite interesting - he said there was a run of 100 production units. Anymore insight in this? Were these destroyed when Atari acquired the rights besides the one you have pictured sans the cab... I would love to see what the bezel was gonna look like!

And I thought I was familiar w/ Taito stuff... till Joe drops a bombshell about a 'John Doe' Taito game! Have to turn in my Taito card!!!

Yes, Andy is a collector buddy of mine who lives 2 houses away from the guy. If I recall, the guy said on the deal with Atari, the units that were already sold and in production could stay (which makes sense because what can you do, recall them?). He said it was for the red cab, which the only other Taito to use red was Kram and this game was before Kram. I think I recall they ended up using red for Kram because they had only used a few for Black Widow. He never mentioned anything about stock being destroyed, but I wouldn't be surprised. Atari sure didn't want it, they just wanted the game name. I didn't see any other pieces, so I don't know what the bezel would have looked like. If you looked up the old posts, you know how long I've been after him. I don't bother him often, but I don't let him forget me either. ;)

Missile Command II PCB

Missile Command II - I have a boardset for this with Missile Command II etched on the board, not just some hand written thing. Got it off ebay from a guy that got it from an ex-Atari employee. I know I had a pic of this on my server, but it's not there right now. Hmmm...will look for it on my home PC tonight. I wrote a long story about searching for this, but can't find it searching the RGVAC archives. Another hmmmm....

Here's the pic of the Missile Command II boardset. This is NOT an Atari Arcade Classics (featuring Super Centipede and Missile Command 2) PCB. This is a completely different game. You can see a higher res pic of the board here (where you can zoom in on the name etched on the board): http://www.tollianweb.com/uc/MCII.jpg

Now to find that story of searching for it....

That was to be a head-to-head cocktail, wasn't it? I vaguely recall somebody was going to be bringing a working Missile Command II to CAX years ago, but it never happened.

A few more:

Cutey Fatty - Looks like a fun game where you fight junk food to keep from gaining weight
Hovercraft - Cinematronics, unreleased vector game
Zool - Predecessor to Sonic the Hedgehog, and was a fun game on PCs
Snapper - Exidy, only info is a flyer showing a turtle with a mounted gun
Ms Pac Man Twin - Susilu, there's one known board confirmed to exist and is being used at an arcade. A partial ROM dump has been made, but not complete as one EPROM is soldered in place and the owner is squeamish about removing it.

Sucks that the EPROMs are missing, I hope they get dumped some day so you can restore the board, it's quite a find.

We met a guy out here who has a Predator Eagle cabinet. No boards or anything else but it says Predator Eagle on the back on the serial plate or whatever. Is that cabinet worth anything?

The short answer: probably yes. I'm hesitant to put a value on it because of its rarity (and particularly with it being sight-unseen), but check the following for info on the game:

I don't know if this is one that is already-known or not, but that's an interesting find either way. Got any photos?
