Hi guys,
I have an NBA Jam Tournament Edition cabinet with a Maximum Hangtime board installed. Can I put in a NBA Showtime / Blitz board in it? If so who has them for sale.

Thanks,
Troy

I was thinking of parting with mine a couple weeks ago. I sorted everything out (not like I was gonna sell it messed up) with it... nothing some chip reseating and changing out a dead cooling fan couldn't fix :p but... they'll turn up on ebay from time to time.

I believe it can be a drop-in replacement for NBA Jam or Hangtime, you just have to set the dipswitches to run 8-way joysticks instead of the 49-way analogs. I THINK even the player 3/4 harnesses are the same, but don't quote me on that one.

I have 2 dedicated Blitz cabs with the I-40 boards installed and all the proper wiring and the 49-way joysticks ... all are necessary to play the game right. you can even get away with a standard resolution monitor (which is what you have) but it won't look as nice.

IMO I'd keep the Jam/Hangtime as-is and hunt around for a Blitz '99 or 2000 cab. they can be had for relatively cheap. and if you run across a Sportstation boardset, you can drop that in with ease. :)
