Are these still available? I have Gauntlet Legends and would like this kit. Would I need anything else to convert the game to play the nba / blitz?

The video graphics card needs to be swapped too. Video cards even though are 3dfx in nature use a different chipset and they need to be swapped. Another issue is the 49way sticks. The wiring that goes to the 49way controller pcb board is different from sportstation to gauntlet. In fact, If I remember correctly Gauntlet doesn't use the 49way controller pcb board but Sporstation does so you will have issues where directions will not work right and such and some rework will need to be done or find a sportstation wiring harness and controller pcb board. If you are running 8way sticks then it's not so much an issue. The overall convesion can be done, just not as easy as it sounds. Since you have a working Gauntlet you should just locate a second vegas boardset and 49way controller and install it onto the other wall of the cabinet and make it a dual boot cabinet. It takes alot of work but it can be done with a simple toggle switch before turning the cabinet on. 1 = Gauntlet, 2 = Sportstation, then power the cab.

Here is a checklist to go from Gauntlet to Sportstation assuming you are using 49way sticks.
1 sportstation Security Chip
1 sportstation Boot rom
1 sportstation Hard Drive
1 sportstation Vegas 3dfx Graphics Card
1 sportstation wiring harness (or rewire the gauntlet)
1 I-40 49way controller board

I share this info because I have done what you are attempting and if I can save you some headache then my work here is done. It was a fun challenge but rewarding in the end.

Wow! I can't thank you enough for this information.

I have a i40 board but lack the cables to connect it to the joysticks and boardset since I initally wanted to convert the cabinet into a Blitz 2000 in which I could put gauntlet legends back in as needed, but realized the lack of connectors hindered the process. Have the boardset and everything for the blitz....

I'll see what I can do to come up with another Vegas board then buy all the necessary additional items from ToplessZ.

U37 chip location

I see where the boot rom goes, but my other chips are unlabeled. I dont see a U37 location, but a U44 location. Is there a map posted on these chip locations installed?

Oh man, I want this so bad but my Gauntlet cab is just too nice to convert.
