So I just got a NBA Maximum hangtime pcb that was DOA. I took all the Roms off the dead board and installed them onto a known working wolf unit board.

First Question, When I power on the pcb I get 3 fast dings instead of one ding like I do with all of the other wolf unit pcbs (umk3, rampage wt, wrestlemania) Is this normal or a fluke?

Second I get errors on roms 132, 131, 130 and sound rom u4, before I get someone to burn these for me, are these by chance interchangeable with the other wolf unit games especially rampage world tour?

Thanks

should only be 1 bong at boot up. I doubt they are interchangeable.

edit: just powered my umk3 up and there should be 1 bong a few seconds after you turn it on, then 1 bong when it's done doing the test.

well I'm hoping the 3 bongs has something to to do with the bad sound rom, but something tells me it has nothing to do with that. Well I guess its time to contact hobby roms. shitty:(

Edit,

reseated u4 3 bongs went away chip tests good:) still nothing on the other 3 bad roms. This is in a dedicated UMK3 cabinet with the computer style power supply. How do I adjust my +5? or is at a set level I can't find an adjustment on it

I'm thinking the 3rd bong might be because of the sound prom error, if it's doing 1 bong when you first power it on, then 2 when the test completes.

get those chips reburned and see what happens. hope it clears it up, I'll be over at my buddies in a couple hours if we decide to play a couple games of max hangtime (we normally do) i'll see what his does but i'm pretty sure it's only 1 or 2 bongs on his also when it starts up.

While I was messing around with this board, I got to monkeying around with a non-working wolf unit pcb that I have and I finally got it to boot by holding my finger on the under side of what I believe could be 2 ram chips. The numbers are as follows in locations U94 and U100

ADM693AN
9517 PIN 1
A24215

and

ULN 2064B PIN 16
9446

When I connect pin 1 and pin 16 together from the respective chips the game with boot and start test menu, I haven't ran it through test menu yet as I want to make sure as to not fry something else. I'm pretty sure that it isn't a broken trace or bad solder.

When I don't connect the two pins together I get one led lit on the board, but nothing else, no sound and no video.

Anyone have an idea on where to get these two chips? or if the two chips are even my problem to begin with?

you could run a jumper wire, or it might just be bad solder joints.
