I'm still new so, this may be a stupid question...

I have an NFL Blitz '99 that was converted from an NBA Jam...The page here for the NBA Jam says its a standard res monitor but the NFL Blitz 99 says Med Res monitor...how exactly do I tell whats in there or will NFL not run on standard res? I don't figure they would change out the monitor when doing the conversion or is that normal to do?

I'm picking up a TMNT tomorrow and i'm thinking I might convert the NFL Blitz over to that if the monitor will work...funny thing is that the TMNT game is currently set up for 2 player in a Berzerk cabinet? odd.

monitor is either a Hantarex polo or WG K7000 25". blitz has a dip jumper that switches it from medium to standard res if i remember correctly. should be a sticker with the label near the flyback area that says either WG K7XXX or 25" Hantarex Polo.

the Blitz games can run in standard res via a dipswitch setting. how do it is kind of vague in the manual, lots of people on KLOV have had difficulty getting it to set right (either by user error, manual error, or bad switch bank).

it can be done though. there's always a possibility the monitor was replaced however, so you'll need to identify what you have first before you do anything.

you can generally tell if Blitz is running in standard res though, it'll look plainer and shittier. lol another approach is to go into the Test mode, Diagnostics, Dipswitch Test and it will tell you if it's running in 15 KHz standard res mode or 24 KHz medium res mode.

Hi Mecha! lol

couldn't agree more that it could have been swapped out (the monitor), but i think the polo and k7000 were the standard nba/mk cab monitors correct?

man i cant find anything back there...all i see is on the monitor frame it has "25x xxx xxxx" stamped in it, i assume thats just the size...there is a Midway sticker that says "warranty void if removed 40023 864850" on it...and then some stickers that say something about certified for use in a combustible cabinet...the tube itself is a Phillips M08X if that helps?

I looked at the "which monitor do you have" post before i made this one and I can't find anything to give me a straight answer on the thing.

the "25x xxx xxxx" is the number we need i believe, the tube is just the tube the chassis is the bread n butter.

this is an image of the Polo chassis:

ok...so its a standard res? and I should be able to just plug and play the TMNT board in there?

correct, double check in the test menu tho. i don't see you having any issues with TMNT at all.

cool...appreciate it.

Like i said earlier...it's in a Berzerk cab set up for 2 player and the monitor isnt working so i have this PITA NFL Blitz beast sitting here taking up space thats already been converted once, so figured it might be a good match up for the TMNT game if the monitor situation didn't kill the deal.

This will be the 2nd Berzerk convert i've picked up this month...not sure what will become of the rest of it yet.

I figure the 2 player vs. 4 player is probably just a setting or controls that are not hooked up? Should be good to go in a 4 player cab with proper settings i would think?

prolly not even a setting but maybe, i don't own TMNT tho, i would think that you'd just not be able to play player 3 and 4 (whichever characters those are) unless you have a p3/p4 harness then it's just a wiring change with the control panel.

test menu will tell you what the blitz monitor is set at as per mecha's instructions.

if its like the JAM/Blitz board it's probably just a plug in like you say....I can't get the NFL on at the moment due to work going on in the garage on a pac man resto...but i will check it out once i can move it.
