Hi everyone,

I have an NBA JAM PCB that appears to not be saving records for initials entered. The odd thing is that it seems to not save the record even from game to game without a power cycle.

The PCB had some repair work done on it for a couple of lines that shorted out with little wires fixing those lines, and otherwise the game works amazing. Doing the pcb verification for all of the ROMS checks out perfect.

I replaced the CMOS battery, and things like the setting for free play (non default) is persisting just fine from power cycle to power cycle.

I'm confused here. Did the original NBA JAM arcade not bother saving a record if the player didn't win? I'm playing as player 2 most of the time, does playing single player as a player other than player 1 not get your record saved?

Time to break out the multimeter?

it should save the records. what cmos battery did you use? mine was doing this, and the battery was not being held in place very well. i had to bend the "finger" on the cmos holder down so the battery made better contact...
