Hey guys,

I think I wanna pick up a NBA Jam pcb but I only have a 2 player jamma cabinet. Can I make this work so that its head to head? I don't have any idea of the pinouts or if theres a kick harness. My jamma cabinet has no kick harness, would I need one?

and can nba jam be made into TE with a simple swap?

to answer your "2 player" question, yes, it's selectable via dipswitch, which one I don't know off-hand, but when you reach that crossroad, feel free to PM me for help.

as for a "simple rom swap" for NBA Jam to NBA Jam TE, not so much. you have to basically replace the entire romset.

if you need an NBA Jam TE board, I have one that I'm not doing anything with now since I have NBA Showtime, just let me know. it was tested working when I bought it, I'll power it up to verify.

the "player 3" harness isn't necessary if you're only going to be running 2 player. all the game's inputs run off the JAMMA wiring. should you acquire a 4 player panel down the road however, you'll need both player 3 and player 4 harnessing, and they're not like the MK kick harnesses, because they have additional wiring for the joysticks as well, it's like a 9 or 10 wire setup.

I believe it's sw1 on the second switch set. What's weird is that the manual says it's not used, but I'm pretty sure I remember experimentally switching my board to 2-player mode.
