On the Hangtime board that I continue to have sound problems with, there are three LED's but only two ever light up. Is that normal? Troubleshooting this has been a real PITA. Some days it works fine all day, other days the sound just cuts out in the middle of a game.

3 light during initial boot test, then once the game kicks on 2 should stay lit

heh, what's it with these Hangtimes and the sound cutting out? :(

So I spent some more time this morning on this, and I found an old thread where someone mentioned this board is hyper sensitive to the voltage level. I've tweaked the voltage a bunch of times without luck, but this morning I was really super anal and I think I have it locked in. Seems like the voltage being too high was the primary culprit for the sound cutting out.

Oh, and I still only get the two LED's showing up, but yet another old thread said that was okay(?)

the 2 LEDs together I believe are relative to the 2 graphics processors at U45 and U47. the one by itself I think is just for when it initially boots. I had a couple UMK3 boards that would change patterns on the 2 LEDs when I swapped bad chips around.

if you have video on screen, that's not anything to worry about.

the voltage reading you get at the rom, you want 5.10V. you might want to take your board and clean the JAMMA edge connector while you're at it with a pencil eraser, make sure you brush the rubber shavings off though. you'll notice that you'll get more power to the chips that way, and you won't risk burning anything up.

my buddies hangtime is dialed in at 5.10v at the chips iirc i think his might be caused by that big can cap at the audio amp heatsink area.
