Did you check it was in the correct orientation. From those pics the socket will accept the inner IC locating pin in any orientation.Pole position works. Narc does not. Pulled and cleaned custom and now nothing on screen.
Much less likely, if wriggling and moving things around got it going. An IC internal faulty is very unlikely to come good from doing that as they are hermetically sealed.Reliable as in my custom chip dying. I'm hoping that it was a connection issue like you indicated.
This is great news to solidify it would solve my problem with that. I guess I got to get around to it. Mine is extremely faint though, and almost unnoticeable to the average person, so this causes me to lag on the job. Exactly how many of them are there to replace ? And only on the CPU Board is good enough huh ?Another Narc with issues. Here is the U83 GAL. This is the third Narc I've seen now where replacing the 100uf caps on the CPU board got rid of static lines/fuzz on the screen. Also would intermittent no boot due to corrosion on U41
I do all the boards but that specific issue is the 4 100uf caps on the CPU board. I also had issues one time with the large caps on the 12v boardThis is great news to solidify it would solve my problem with that. I guess I got to get around to it. Ok, good to know only 4. If I ever get the energy, time and interest again, I have to try this. That said, when you say "all the boards", do you mean all the 100uf caps on all boards ? Or all cap on all boards ?I do all the boards but that specific issue is the 4 100uf caps on the CPU board. I also had issues one time with the large caps on the 12v board
I mean every cap on every board because that's just the how I do it. All of these cap are well past there lifespan so if I have the game apart I'm just going to do everythingOk, good to know only 4. And what are the symptoms/issues that the caps on the other boards cause if they are going bad ? (so I can be on the lookout).
I like that motto and agree. Thanks for your replies.I mean every cap on every board because that's just the how I do it. All of these cap are well past there lifespan so if I have the game apart I'm just going to do everything
