I have a custom built Naomi / Chihiro / Triforce Compact Flash GD-ROM replacement drive .
This drive is being sold at a reduced price of 100.00 shipped in the US because it was one of my first prototypes. The insides of it are ok, but I did a crappy job cutting the plastic case which is why Im selling it cheap. I sell my newer versions for 180.00 each.
There is a picture below of the drive. Its fully functional and works perfectly.

This drive will directly replace your GD-ROM drive. If you have a GD-ROM drive already setup then its an easy swap out to connect this replacement drive.

This unit has ONLY been tested with a Naomi1 and Naomi2 system.

No games are included but I can sell you just about any Naomi1 or Naomi2 game to go with it for 20.00 each. Just ask me and Ill let you know if I have the game.

PROS to this system:

Replaces dead or dying GD-ROM drives (will never fail since it has no moving parts or programmable chips to fry)
Load times are slightly faster (Nothing spectacular though so don't expect lighting fast loading, Naomi systems are the worst for loading times)
Easier and cheaper to find games on new CF system (I have most of the Naomi1 and Naomi2 games ready for this system, just ask for a specfic game you are looking for)
No changing Security Keys: You only swap the CF card when you want to change the game. (System must be powered down to change CF cards) Easy for kids to change game.
No need to have a PC or Laptop near your machine for netbooting.

CONS:

This stuff ain't cheap! The original Sega CF adapter is only sold to dealers in the UK and costs over 350 by itself!

You must have a NET DIMM updated to 4.02 to use this drive. I have net dimms for sale that are already updated to 4.02 that include netbooting security chips.

looks good, I would get one of these for my chihiro Outrun2 and mount in the dash like an old 8 track tape :) easy to change games, only problem is the SCSI cable, could you increase the length of those easily? and still up for testing this on Chihiro ;-)

I don't think we will be able to use this on the chihiro since we aren't using official sega cf cards. It might work but doubt it

I just put together a few more of these if anyone wants one.

Mick- I think I'll take you up on the offer of testing . Send me your address again

I have the "official" Sega CF kit for my Outrun 2: Special Stages twin machine. It works well. I inquired about switching out other games in the CF kit, but was told that it wouldn't be as easy as I would have hoped...

It all depends on the security that chihiro uses. If its like naomi then it isnt that hard to get around. Once mick tests my kit we will know for sure.
