Naomi / Chihiro / Triforce Compact Flash GD-ROM replacement

I have a custom built Naomi / Chihiro / Triforce Compact Flash GD-ROM replacement drive. Includes one game of your choice.
Will easily directly swap for a GD-ROM drive. You must have a Net DIMM to use. 170.00 shipped in the US. Includes netboot key.

looks good! how are the loading times vs. GD roms & netbooting? I think this would be a good alternative for my Outrun 2, have you tested it much on Chihiro Platform?

It loads just slightly faster than a gdrom . Trick is to use the smallest cf card that will fit the game. I put the same game on a 128mb card and a 4gb cf card and the 4gb cf card took 2 minutes longer to load .

This looks great! Didn't really like the idea of having a laptop next to your cab.

Can this be used with a Naomi 1 Motherboard? How many games can be installed in one compact flash?

Really interested here~!

Yea it works on Naomi 1 and 2. But only one game per CF card

Theres a net dimm with scsi connector for sale on ebay for 185 shipped, will save you 15 from my bulk price. Its the arcadesan guy from the for sale section.

Did you end up doing any tests for the Chihiro system? I have an Outrun 2 I'd consider trying this in.

I dont have a Chihiro to test on, so so far no. I know it will work , the question is will the CF card work since its not an official sega CF card.

I have a pair of Outrun 2 units that I did the "official" Sega CF update on. The loading times appear to be IDENTICAL to the GD-Rom. I didn't notice ANY loading speed increase whatsoever, which leads me to believe that the hardware will only load the data "so fast". Unless, as the OP suggested, my CF card just so happens to be large enough to slow boot times down enough to make it take basically the same time as the GD-Rom did???

Seriously, the load times seem literally the SAME as before to me, so I would not go into this expecting a noticeable decrease in loading times....

I agree, the load times are not anything special. It still takes ahwile to load unless you have a good battery installed and the game has already loaded itself once.
