Hey,

I got a New Net City cabinet today and I went to hook up a Naomi 2 setup that I had purchased a few weeks ago and unfortunately I'm not getting any display or audio. The Naomi 2 is powering up, fans are spinning, but no display.

Like a newb (which I am) I didn't measure the voltage before connecting the Naomi 2, but did check afterwards, and here's what it's reading:

CN1
Red: 11.91
Yellow: 5.24
Brown: 3.40

CN2
Yellow: 5.24
Brown: 3.40

I did hook a Dreamcast up to the monitor and it displayed.

I can't confirm that the Naomi 2 worked other than it was sold to me as working. I also realized that CN2 wasn't connected internally when I initially turned things on. =/

I'm hoping that the 5.24/3.40 voltages weren't too high for the MB. Should the voltages on those literally be 12/5/3.3? I've read you can adjust on the PSU, but I'm hesitant to make any changes without some feedback.

Anything else I might want to look at to try to diagnose this?

Thanks for any and all help!

The 5 volt is barely high, but not enough as to ruin the system, you should see at least the naomi logo startup, unless the resolution is not correctly set for the monitor, but it should also appear an out of sync image.. I am afraid the Naomi system does not work..

Thanks for your response. I'm going to try to adjust the voltage down a bit and try again. I have another Naomi 2, but I'm hesitant to hook that up ahead of the adjustment. If they're both dead that's a big bummer.

Theres a detail that I forgot, check the coolers of the chips in the the Naomis main board, I am preety sure theres one small with rotation sensor that if is stuck, the system wont start,
please comment later

Two fans over graphics processors. If they still or slow too much it will kill CPU Bd. If not fans, could be just loose BGAs or maybe bad SMD RAM for SH-4 CPU.

Thanks for the help! I adjusted the voltages on the PSU to 5.1 and 3.3 and one of the Naomi boards is working. I'll open up the other to check the fans, but I'm glad at least one is functional so I can test out this cab!
