Alright i have a Nanao MS9-29s with a vertical colappse issue. I already bought and replaced the Vertical IC but that did not seem to do the trick at all. Any thoughts on fixing my problem thanks.

im gonna guess yes..

Per mod circa 2009

"Replace C433 ( 10uf 50v ) and R433 ( 2.2K 1/4w ) , if still no deflection replace R436 ( 15K 1/4w ) "

I would check those teo resistors. IF yours had the same reistors make sure they haent changed value. THye are so small im suprised they worked at all. YOu can use physically larger resistors. Just install one end straight and then bend the other leg over so the resistor sits vertically when installed.

That fix worked on my 26SU, and I've reposted here and gotten comments that it's also worked for other people, I'd be curious if it's also common in the 29s.

Alright thanks guys for the info hopefully this helps out. I have the 29 and you are refering to the 28 chassis right? Im only asking because all around the Verticall IC i cannot seem to locate those parts r433 r436 and c433. ill upload some pics in a bit.

They're not really close to the vert IC on the MS8 either. They're kind of in the middle of the chassis...

Alright took some pics of my chassis and have some questions about testing the resistors with a multimeter.

Here is the chasis i have a MS9-29

Alright the two blue resistor next to each other when tested in continutiy mode (the mode that makes the noise if you make a connection) beep for a split second and then the numbers drop to around 98 and 200 im going to take a guess that these are the ones giving me problems.

Also the orange resistor all the way down at the bottom ontop of vr552 gives me no reading at all just stays at ? I also have alot of caps that do this they are all at one. could it be because something in the circuit is bad that these dont get any readings?

Alright its not the two blue resistors even checked the third they are supose to read 100 and 220 so those are good. I checked all the other resistors and they seem to be good also. Still am getting a 1 reading though on some caps I did replace one of them to see if it made a difference but no same reading 1.

Alright heres an update. I caped the chassis but no good afyer replacing the vertical IC. I noticed that i no longer am getting a picture on the screen just the sound of it turning on then off. I have no idea what to do :(

For future reference I could not fix this i got the cap kit fully replaced it and nothing. I was missing caps though from the kit i got they where all the 47uf. I am still waiting from the company i bought them to send me a new kit. At the end I decided to just buy the wei ya chassis from alva amusement. Its a pretty good chassis and I don't really notice the thicker scan lines like some people have complained about.

this should be a sticky somewhere

Wow as hard as information is to find on the nanao monitors we should make a sticky for these like the k7000.
This was exactly what was wrong with mine I went right to the c433 location the cap had leaked and corroded r433 and r436 replaced the 3 fired it up and it was perfect.

Pics would be great! for future reference (also for people that are better at understanding visually like me). I'm going to replace my r433 and r436. This is the MS9-29s chassis like mine right? and not the MS 28 mentioned on the first page?
