I am not a monitor fix-it person.

I acquired the Nanao MS8-26SU as a non-working monitor in a non-working game. I found fmonitor use F902 a 2A fuse blown and previous "tracks" of a previous owner attempting to resolve the problem or previous problems such as the FBT Screen adjustment maxed out and safety silicone on B+ adjustment removed.

I removed the Q533 2SD1880 transistor and it tested OK.
I removed the Q901 2SC3306 transistor and it tested OK.

I put in a Cap kit which replaced almost all caps on this monitor board and neck board with the exception of maybe one, the biggest one.

I put the removed transistors back in, replaced the F902 2A fuse and reinstalled the circuit board.

I powered up the monitor stand-alone with no input as I have nothing that would be easy to use to provide an input signal. Yes, I used a isolation transformer.

The F902 fuse is holding.

I adjusted the B+ to 92VDC using test points 1 and 2 on the monitor board - not sure if this is correct measuring points.

I found the white image on the CRT skewed, so I adjusted the yoke to straighten the image. I turned down the FBT screen adjustment to where there is just a white screen with horizontal lines that are narrow between lines at the top get wider between lines going to the bottom.

I don't know if trying to adjust the monitor using this white image is proper. I can't get the white screen with the lines to expand to full screen using vertical size, this is a horizontal monitor. The control will reduce the vertical size. The horizontal size is fine.

I can not get vertical centering to work.

What is with the horizontal lines with increasing spacing going down the screen?

So finally some questions: Is using this white screen OK to make these adjustments?

Why can't I get the vertical size and centering to work?

How does one get the degaussing to work on this monitor as it is a separate wire and plug for power input that has no connection in this cabinet? Can this be plugged in directly to some kind of AC power?

I have the manual for this monitor.

you need to hook this up to a videosource before you go too much further.

Yes the degauss on these is manual.. In the original cabs neutral is connected to one terminal and 120vac hot is hooked to the other THROUGH A TEMPORARY pushbutton switch, ****IF MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLTY***** might wanna search here and see what other people have done for that.

The link below should help you wire the degauss button. ;)

If you do a search for "MS8 Degauss" most of those threads will have a link to the thread above.
