The Nanao in my Jaleco Pony candy cab just went out. I saw it vertical collapse, and then blink out. Now when I try to power it up, I hear the crackle of it turning on normally, but within a second I hear a faint click as if it's turning itself off. Anyone had this or something similar in other monitors?

Bob and others have cap kits for ms8-25fA. Anyone know if this will work for B? Pic of my chassis:

Do a search on the MS8-26SU repair threads here with my name attached. There is a fix there for vertical collapse that might be relevant. I'm at work now, or I'd find it for you...

According to randy Fromm's excellent YouTube videos, you probably have a problem in the power supply. No video and hum after 1 second is you X-ray circuit kicking in due to B+ voltage being too high. Check that voltage. Replacing ps cap filters will fix it.

Actually, I never fixed the issue on my Pony, but I had a similar problem in my Sega Swing, and, yeah, those instructions were right on.

Here they are:

the vertical problem is a simple one.

Replace C433 ( 10uf 50v ) and R433 ( 2.2K 1/4w ) , if still not deflection replace R436 ( 15K 1/4w
