I know nothing about Nanao's shit.

anyone know which model shipped with Daytona USA? (the Twin model in particular)

one of the monitors is emitting an annoying hissing sound, that's either flyback or caps, right? incidentally, the focus wasn't very responsive on the other monitor, perhaps these suckers may be in need of rebuilds soon, yeah?

are they a bitch to work on?

the Toshiba tubes and the strange resemblance to that evil Toshiba monitor I've got is already scaring me.

The manual says RTFM. ;)

(MS8-29FSG)

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I knew there was an 8 in it. I think Daytona 2 had the MS9, cause it's a totally different arrangement. I can't find a fucking Brightness control on that to save my life. that monitor looks so weird right now.

they are 2 kind of monitor that comes within daytona usa iirc. one is nanao 29 inch (with many smd component on board), and one is toshiba (i forgot the type).

the one with smd sometimes give hard time to repair, but sometimes easy :p

well, fuck.

it had a P- part number on it, sounds like a god damn Toshiba to me.

it even had that weird connector on the side with the RGB/sync and AC and degauss wiring all in one like the D29CR55.

the toshiba one should be easy. that kind of connector are standard in japanese simulator cab. nothing wierd about it.

where do you get flybacks for those things? I might've mentioned, on the Toshiba monitor I yanked from Dance Maniax, last I checked Mouser didn't carry replacement HOTs for that model anymore.

I imagine these are plentiful in Japan and elsewhere and there has to be some type of support out there for them in the way of parts.

The adjustments pots are on the front of the chassis. While you have this out can you ohm the yoke and see what the vert and horizontal readings are? You'll have to pull the glass and bezel to get to them.

I honestly had no clue, I just glanced in the manual and that's the one it showed.
But like anything else, ya never really know what you have until you dig into it.

And a lot of people miss the small color drive pots set a little back between the other color bias pots. Sometimes they will need to be adjusted up to get a nice bright colorful pic.

I have some pics of various Nanao chassis, and a few schematics. If you post a pic of yours, I can probably ID it...

EDIT - or check it against some of the Nanao pics here:

while you have em apart to cap em and fly em also upgrade a few resistors to larger wattage..

here it is.. courtesy of mod.

Replace C433 ( 10uf 50v ) and R433 ( 2.2K 1/4w ) , if still no deflection replace R436 ( 15K 1/4w )

this is what Daytona 1's got:

I remember it saying PM1745 on the left side of the board, and those R. BLK, B. BLK etc. controls being right there.

lol

what am I in for with this? for some strange reason I knew already that this game had Sanwas, but then people started talking Nanaos and I figured that's what they really were.

I remember now why I never got to mess with Daytona 2 much, it's cause instead of our Daytona twins that have the large metal door that comes off, it just has a small wooden opening and everything's crammed in there tight.

now i see the right ID are like mecha said, Sega_PM11745 and the other one is Nanao MS9-29A-T-SU (smd galore).

the ms8-29fsg are not quite compatible with those yokes.

btw, some schematics would be nice :D

although my coworker said that sometimes they need to replace the flyback, but it is a rare case. this PM11745 often had a broken power supply part, in addition to HOT FETs. i don't know where to get flyback for this type. we just buy some second compatible high resolution monitor that can handle those yoke, to replace them.
