so i have this harness (pic 2 and 3) out of my old Sega cabinet (i believe was originally 3 player), Sega Serial on cab is 00405737 (pic 1). and 1/2 the harness (part w/ out 3wire volume molex) has a sticker with BGS-004A wrapped around the ground wire. on both 34pin harness's, pins 3,4, and 32 are empty. This harness was connected to a Jamma harness also.

As vague as this info is you'd make a definite friend if you can name it (about the same difficulty as a rubix cube)because your a genius.

Those 34 pin connectors were used on CPSII and III boards. I'd guess this was a Dungeons and Dragons game at one time based off of how populated the harnesses are. The fighters harnesses only use eight wires to the 34 pin connector.

wow so fast!! kudo's to you sir!!!!

Hmm but a sega didn't make DnD...

Just because it was originally a Sega cab doesn't mean it hasn't been a half dozen or more games throughout it's history. If you want to know what the cab was originally snap some pics of the entire cab and the back side of the control panel.

Your completely right, i'll have to dig out the old C.P and snap a few shots. I shouldn't have even questioned your first response cause it's dead on if you look at the link i posted it even breaks down both harness's. "The harness is compatible with the Sega Naomi I/O board by Capcom and CPS-3 games." direct quote.

inc friend request :D

No problem. I, too, have picked up a Sega cab or two with assorted games installed. My cabs were both originally Moonwalker but had been converted to fighters.

I recognize the D&D harness because it is one of my favorite games from that era, that and I have built a few of these harnesses over the years.

Yea i'm in the same boat, i've converted this cab over to a 10 in 1 multi cab all jamma all the time (the only way to stand up game :D ). This sega cab currently houses all the games in my sig and soon to be Marvel Vs. Capcom friendly too :D.

are those DnD harness's expensive or hard to find?

Thanks for the Friend Request approval, anyone who can name something as obscure as a random wire harness is someone i wanna be friends with lol.

They pop up from time to time on Ebay, but the seller rarely knows what it is. Usually it is just referred to as a CPS II Kick Harness. You really need to look at the pictures to ID the heavily populated ones used for the four player games. I think they usually sell for under $20, not including shipping.

I located all of the parts and just build what I need when I need something like this. I personally played D&D TOM in a showcase cabinet when I was a kid, and that is what I want for my collection. That cab requires a really long harness and most I have seen pop up for sale were under three feet long.

good to know, i'll have to look into finding out which these are for. but i did just measure the longer one that wasn't zip-tied up and it was over 4 feet long, once i id them i'd love to sell them to someone who could use them (not a huge dnd fan so i won't).

Is there a good site that helps id-ing them that you know of?
