I have a friend that has a maximum tune 3 machine that's dead.

He took it into a repair place that wants to charge him $14,000 for a replacement board set and $8,000 for repairs on the broken one.

I know nothing about Namco N2 machines and was just wondering if this sounds right ?

Are there replacement parts available for these machines ?

Any info would be appreciated...

That seems high. I see you're in Toronto, are you happening to talk to Playdium? Their prices seemed really high for everything when I inquired there.

Hey there,

I dont want to bad mouth anyones business... I pm'd you who im talking to.

I just want to know if there are parts available so i can maybe "do it myself" ?

N2 is PC based, so yeah, that is way out of line. I would suggest contacting Namco directly for tech questions and spare pricing. $14000 for a glorified PC is ridiculous. If that is truly the replacement cost, I'd start checking the darker corners of the web. I would bet this hardware has been cracked and the software can be run on a regular PC. I'm sure the info is out there somewhere...

From Highway Entertainment, this stock is located in Canada I believe...

8x Maximum Tune 3 SD $4,500usd

That's for the entire setup including cab/monitor etc, dunno the condition. I'd say your quoted prices are ridiculously high.

Hey there, thanks for that link...

I actually havent seen the machine. I just heard that it was 'dead' nothing happening with the cpu powering up.

So, they'll charge $8000 to put in a new power supply or replace a fuse?
