Can anyone tell me the spacing of the Namco Kick harness? I have been told that it is smaller than the standard Jamma (0.156 in) and I am looking for a parts source if possible. I believe it is 0.100 in center post to center post and I am looking for confirmation on this.

Thanks.

Yeah, I was suggesting you might shoot them an email. They might not write back but it couldn't hurt to try.

Gotcha.

I have tried in the past concerning the connector used for CPSII harnesses and they had no idea what the parts are or how to help me.

From what I can tell Jamma Boards is a company that specializes in stealing other's designs, bootlegging (sp?) them, and then selling the bootleg parts at a steep discount undermining the original designer.

I found a Soul's Edge board in my stack of boards and measured it myself. It looks to be the .100 in I was hoping for. I have been unable to locate any 48 connector housings but I have been able to find some 50 connector housings that I plan to buy and check for fit. I'll update this thread when I determine if it fits. In the mean time, if anyone has a part number or source for the 48 position parts please let me know.

if you can fab something, let me know. I don't need "kick harnesses", but I do need the same thing for all the aux wiring on a Suzuka 8 Hours 2, as the original Namco ones, the pins are breaking off on them.

Good luck, I think that's why Jammaboards.com has been out of stock forever, they can't find a source for the connectors. I hope the 50s work out.

I have tested the 50 pin connectors on my Soul Edge board and they fit well.

The connector is made by EDAC and has a part number of 341-050-520-202. I bought them from Mouser but they may be available elsewhere.

Edit: I forgot to include the polarizing key part number. It is 306-240-218.

no shit

I have to place an order with them when I get home next week. I really need it for Suzuka 8 Hours 2, the pins broke off like on their own. had the machine linked and then suddenly the link didn't work anymore. then I saw the pins broke off.

I think if you want to compensate for the extra pins you could shoot some hot glue or silicone in the space that overhangs the connector to get it to fit snug. isn't the Namco one a 48 pin harness? I can't remember off hand.

good find, thanks.

I ran into the same thing with Final Lap 2. I ended up just soldering short wires to required edge connector slots, and then terminating the wires in a molex connector, then making a custom cable to link the two together with matching molex on each end.

I could have done this too, but it was mostly a pain in the ass to work on the machine with the bikes still attached. I couldn't dissect it when the room they're in was open, but it's closed for the winter, perhaps once I'm caught up on everything else I'll fix this. would really like to do it with some legit connectors though.

Yes, the Namco harness is a 48 pin harness, however I think all of the boards have space for this connector. It is only a fraction of an inch longer than the Namco harness.

As for the fit, they fit very snug already. I installed an alignment key into the appropriate slot and it seems to ensure that the connector is aligned properly. The key part number is: 306-240-218. I should have included that in my other post...

Damn, thanks for all the research on this one. I wound up finally sourcing 2 of the originals for my Soul Edge and another board I'm trying to hunt down and finding them was about 437 bitches on a bitch boat. Nice to know there's a part out there that will work with this that's actually still being made (far as I know Namco were the only ones making the originals and they stopped making them a looooooooooong time ago), and fit great with the alignment key in there.
