Same BS with me here in TX. I've called before atleast on 3 different occasions but never recieved a call back let alone anyone ever answers

I called up Namco Arcade a few months ago and spoke to a person in Pennsylvania about a Star Wars arcade game they supposedly have. The guy said the game was on location earning money but couldn't tell me where exactly (just the city listed and that it might be in a movie theater). They said they could take it out of the location so I could check it out, but it could take 30 days to do that. Sounded like too much of a hassle, especially because he couldn't even confirm if it was the original 1983 game or some other version.

yeah, i've heard that secret location making money story from Buzz, too. If it's making so much money, why are you selling it?

and if it's for sale, why wouldn't you want me to go look at it where it sits, and if i want it, i'll hand someone cash and wheel it away.

it doesn't add up. Buzz needs to get a commission on each sale or something to motivate him/them to actually sell these things...

Namco is bullshit. Any game listed with the 630 area code is in a street location. You could get Buzz, Jesus, whoever, on the line and nothing will come of it. Then, the stuff ends up at one of their auctions they hold a couple times a year, where they go for NO money!

The only way you're getting anything off that price list is if it is in one of their few leftover gamerooms, where you speak direct to the store manager.

You seriously thought Namco has a Star Wars vector game from 1983?
When they say "Star Wars Arcade" that's exactly what they mean:

I have a friend who used to run the local area Namco arcades. He is one here from time to time. He tells me that dealing with them on these "items for sale" is total BS. It makes no sense for them to have to claim that they will "pull the game off the route" just so that you can LOOK at it and decide if you want it. By the way, what the hell does KRM stand for??? Is that Kiddie Ride Machine?

Dealing with them is a pain in the ass, takes forever, never return calls, never have any classics etc. not worth the trouble. I don't like most of the game they have for sale anyways....

They have them listed as "Upright Video Game." I don't know what they are referring to because the link you have here goes to a game that isn't an upright.

Sorry, wrong link... I believe what they have is Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (the sequel from 1998):
http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9777

which came in both upright and sitdown models. Namco has both, listed as "STAR WARS ARCADE STD" and "STAR WARS ARCADE DLX".
I don't think you're going to find Namco selling any classics from the 80's.

I bought my Gauntlet Legends from them and have had to repair or replace most of the components.

You have to go into the deal assuming that the equipment will be a real mess and the people selling it will be lying dicks.

They returned my calls and were pretty reasonable to deal with but OMG their equipment was fracked up. They had to assemble parts from 3 different games to give me one that appeared to work but unfortunately had a number of issues remaining.

The only way to get ahold of anybody is if you know Buzz's cell number (you have to be willing to spend 10K or more up front) or if you know the Namco route guy. I've bought a LOT of stuff from Namco as an individual, but you need to have good contacts to get anything.

wow i was gonna buy one of thoes $25 cranes, but reading all this crap about how they never return phone calls, want to pull a (money making machine lol) so i can look. seems like a HUGE hassle.. i would just rather buy a crane for $100, agree on a day then load n leave

thanks guys, now im not even gonna call SCAMCo

It's worth a call.

I had to try calling him a couple of times before he returned my call and hooked me up with the local folks. Worst case you waste a couple of phone calls to the guy.

Those Namco sales are a hassle. I tried calling them and left several messages and e-mails for about a year. By the time I finally got a call back I was told that all of their Texas inventory was auctioned off as Namco pulled out of the state. It was a real waste of time for me.
